Former Insurance Defense Attorney Fighting For You

1 killed, 2 injured in tragic bus crash near Aspen

When you merge onto the highway, it's important to know who has to yield. Sometimes, there's little time for those on the right to enter the highway at speed. Despite that, those entering the highway have to be careful to avoid crashing into someone else.

Likewise, those in traveling lanes should move over to the left, so the people entering the highway don't have to fight for space. Failing to do so can result in a serious collision and confusion as to who's at fault.

If you're a fan of the National Basketball Association, then you may have heard that a longtime agent of several of the NBA's players was killed in an accident near Aspen. The man, 56, was in his SUV when he was struck by a bus on Highway 82.

The news report states that the man had been driving and was attempting to merge or cross onto the highway when he was broadsided. Inside his vehicle, who other people, his 5-year-old son and a 29-year-old woman, were seriously injured. Their medical conditions haven't been released since they were admitted. While there was a passenger on the bus, neither the passenger or driver were hurt, fortunately.

The area where the accident occurred has been a hot spot for crashes in the past. It has had improvements, but it's still a dangerous area. In this case, it's believed the bus driver didn't have time to slow down to avoid a collision, but an investigation is ongoing.

Crashes like this are complicated and take time to investigate. If you're struck and suffer serious injuries, remember that you need to seek medical help and then speak with someone who can protect your legal rights.
