Katie Wooding is often the first person in the office every morning. She gets things ready to go. She’s also one of the first people you talk to when you call us or visit the office. In many ways, she is the face of the firm. Katie helps keep us organized and on the ball. Just about every day, she filters through client files and makes sure everything is accurate and up-to-date. It’s client care at its finest.
Before Katie joined the team in 2014, her perspective on personal injury was very different. “I had no idea what was in my own insurance policy or what to do if I was in an accident,” And since day one, it’s been a learning experience for Katie, but she has learned a lot. Her favorite aspect of the job? Helping people. “Working at a law firm, we’re in a unique position. People often come to us after they’ve been in an accident or injured. Their life isn’t what it was. We get to help them correct that, at least some of the way.” That’s what makes it all worth it for Katie.
Out of the office, Katie tries to get outdoors as much as possible. In any season, she and her husband can find an excuse to go outside and take in nature. They also have a cat and dog, and Katie says the dog makes a wonderful hiking companion, but the cat not so much. When she isn’t enjoying the great outdoors around Fort Collins, Katie spends time with family, relaxing and catching up with college basketball.
Amy Selcke joined VanMeveren Law Group, P.C. on May 1, 2020. Amy brings a great deal of civil litigation and personal injury experience to the firm. She has 25 years of legal experience. The last seven years she has been a legal assistant and office manager. She started her legal career while she was in high school working as a runner and receptionist. She quickly found that she had a passion for helping clients. After a couple of years working at the entry level, she joined a large insurance defense firm as a legal assistant in Birmingham, Alabama.
Amy returned to her hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado in 2001 where she continued to work as a legal assistant in firms focusing primarily on insurance litigation and personal injury.
Amy is caring and compassionate. She enjoys working closely with clients and helping them navigate the legal, medical and financial challenges they are faced with after being injured. She finds her job to be very gratifying.
Amy is married and has two sons. In her free time, she enjoys spending her time with her family outdoors. She is a hands-on mom and is often driving her children to school and their many sporting activities. If she is not at the sports field on the weekend, you will find her at the lake soaking up the sun.
Andrea Harokopis has been a legal assistant with the firm since May of 2017. She joined our team after moving from Laramie, Wyoming, which is known as “the land of the wind.” Here, Andrea had been working with another law firm as an interpreter before she ultimately transferred to the role of legal assistant.
As a legal assistant, Andrea appreciates how every day is different; there’s never a dull moment at VanMeveren Law Group. She works directly with many of our clients and folks who call us with questions or concerns related to their case.
Why did she move to Fort Collins? According to Andrea, there’s simply more to do- from outdoor activities and nightlife, to, well, just about everything.
